Cooper Statement on Passage of Next Wave of Stimulus
NASHVILLE – U.S. Rep. Jim Cooper (TN-05) released the following statement after he voted for the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act, H.R. 266, which passed the House today:
“This is the latest COVID-19 relief effort, which follows the largest economic relief bill in America’s history. It is a very important bill that we need to protect us and help the people and small businesses that are hurting right now,” Rep. Cooper said. “We also know that it doesn’t help everyone or every small business that needs it. We will begin to work on the next relief bill right away.”
The bill will replenish the Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program and Economic Injury Disaster Loan fund. Money is also provided for hospitals and coronavirus testing.
